  |  Sony News! Any news regarding Sony shall be placed here for discussion. The most recent edition of Game Informer Australia magazine is claiming that Sony has told them that developers are preparing games for the currently unanounced Playstation 4. The existence of the Playstation 4 has been predicted by many gaming-industry analysts, and is said to be releasing in 2012. This is no means a direct announcement of the new device, but it is an indication that Sony is preparing its publishing partners for the release. As a standard game can take anywhere between 2-4 years to be properly developed, it is necessary for developers to know the specifications for a new console well before the public finds out about it. A development cycle for the launch games can be as little as two years, this is pointing towards a 2012 release for the console. As the Playstation 3 will be at a grand old age of 6 at this time, it is not unlikely that this will be the year the console launches. So this claim by Game Informer may be true, giving us an even greater indication that Sony is actively pursuing the follow up to the Playstation 3. It is more than likely just developers being given information about the possible specification for the device, allowing them an opportunity to properly develop games for the device well before the actual console is announced. The snippet (seen above) is part of the magazines 'Bite Size' segment, which is the location for all the news that has happened in the past month. This is a news section for the magazine, not a rumor section, so the information is possible. It is a not very likely at all that Sony will announce the successor to the Playstation 3 anytime this year, but an announcement next year is increasingly being true as more and more rumors come to light, only time will tell.  | I would like to see a complete overhaul of all 3 consoles by 2012. I doubt 360 will due to them releasing the new 360 slim, and Wii is really suffering in the good games department, and I sincerely hope they realize that they are not going to control the market with the games only good for 5 year old children. Come on, you got to have some games rated m.

| I will say, when I get a good job with good pay, I am saving some cash and getting a 360 Slim as my secondary console for the games I don't get to have on the Wii.

|  Naughty Dog’s community strategist had disclosed that they are very interested in releasing a GOTY edition for UC 2. Now it’s all but confirmed! Play Asia have started taking pre-orders for Uncharted 2 GOTY Edition. Incase you have been living under a rock, 2009 belonged to Uncharted 2. A PS3 exclusive with over 150 industry awards and sitting high with 96 in Metacritic. We suspect this GOTY edition inculdes all the DLCs and character packs released so far for the game, PA has priced it at a decent 60$. Also, PA are known for their accuracy when it comes to listing games and this is as good as confirmed now. If you haven’t bought UC2, which should have by now, we recommend you wait till October ( that’s when PA will get the stocks ) as you can see in this screenshot and get the GOTY edition instead. Now all that is left is for Naughty Dog to officially make an announcement. We have sent them an email in the meantime.
