QUALITY ASSURANCE TRANSLATOR (Los Angeles, CA)

Job Summary

Primary responsibility is translating bugs and reference documents. This includes translating the open bugs from English to Japanese as well as the testing and evaluating of games. This position will be onsite at our El Segundo, CA location.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual ? Japanese/English. Must have strong, professional skills at both Japanese to English and English to Japanese translation
• Knowledge of Japanese/American pop culture
• Ability to manipulate database effectively, and be able to educate the Analysts (as the database may undergo changes to suit specific projects)
• Computer literate, specifically MS Word, Excel, and Access
• Ability to multi-task
• Good problem solving skills
• Good teamwork
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have passion for games!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Translate all current open bugs from English to Japanese
• Translate general walkthroughs or Japanese manuals and hint guides for other Analysts
• Translate all relevant materials and email correspondence to and from the Japanese development team
• Help Analysts play through Alpha versions of titles that do not have complete English text
• Assist in the testing of a project, translation or evaluation and write or co-write walkthroughs for game titles
• Uploads error reports to appropriate databases. Maintains databases to ensure up-to-date information has been entered
• May be required to review and provide comment on a current or upcoming title using an "Impressions" evaluation
• May participate in evaluation sessions to determine if Japanese title from Square Enix would benefit an American release
