Final Fantasy XII FF12 broke the tradition of Battle Screens and was also the sixth game ever to receive a perfect 40/40 score from Famitsu.

Default Beating Grauda.

When I fought him two of my main pary had Quickening so I gathered up a chain and killed him then.

I played a second time with my characters at a high level around 17-22 I think and he died easy so I might not be able to help you.

Mist is quite simple actually.

Each character has three different moves. Level one, two and three. Watch your MP-bar... It's divided in three different sections. When each section is full, you can perform all moves (level 1, 2, 3). When you perform a move it uses your MP, level 1 move uses 1 bar, level two uses 2 bars, level 3 uses 3 bars.

If you have only 2 full bars you cannot do level 3 mist, only level 1 or 2. Level 3 move is naturally more powerfull than level 1 move... When you run out of MPs you can't perform any move anymore. Howerer, you can sometimes get "Mist charge" It fills your MP-bar fully. It pops randomly, always charge your mist when you get the change. You can shuffle your mist moves pressing R2, but I recommend using it only when it's the only option.

There's also finishing moves depending what moves have you done. For example. If you've done two of each level mists. Finishing move will be Ark blast. You don't necessarily need to do exact amount of mists: If you've done 4 level 1's 2 level 2's and three level 3's finishing move is still going to be Ark blast.

But basically, the longer chain, the more damage dealt. At first the finishing move is not that important.

Here's a more detailed guide if needed:

I hope this helps a little, feel free to ask more.

This was actually very helpful.... The only thing is.... I am still having a hard time beating Garuda in the "Valley of the Dead". I went back and leveled everyone up to 17 yesterday and tried it then.... still got my ass spanked. I got pretty much the best bows and all I can have at my level. I don't know what else I could have thaat would make it better. If anyone knows the best way to beat that bird, please let me know.....

If you're level 17 you should be able to kill garuda with just one long mist chain. Try to attack normally with ranged weapons and when you're in trouble use the mist.

You could try to inflict blind to garuda, it might work. And before fight cast protect/shell for everyone... Heal with potions/phoenix downs, it's faster.

I really can't give you any specific tips, because I can't remember the whole damn fight anymore.
