Balthier Appreciation Thread

Now I'm aware that there's a favourite character thread, but considering how smooth and winning Balthier is I'm absolutely certain he requires his own thread.

Never has a Final Fantasy character had such, well, character! Since at least Kefka in FFVI. First of all, is there anything more awesome than a sky pirate? Not only is he a pirate, but he has an airship as well, and there's nothing more awesome than airships. Pretty much everyone who I've spoken to that dislike the game have cited Balthier as one of the few positives. He's the Ace Rimmer (for you red dwarf fans) of the Final Fantasy world.

I like Balthier though he does seem to flirt a lot lol. He is my friends favourite character out of all :p

See...I thought he brought some comedy to the game but I wasn't a huge fan of him.

He was my second highest level character. Definitely would not have bothered with that if I didn't like the guy.

I would have much preferred the game centered about Baltheir rather than Vaan. I hate Vaan so much. He's the most useless main character ever.

eh I don't know. I think Balthier's got to much history. S-E isn't known for having a main character with a lot of history to him/her.

In reality, I think Ashe should have been the main character.
Vaan really wasn't anything after the first five minutes of the game.

That I can kind of agree with but I still think that's someone with too much "history"
