FFXI Hackers Little Info

To Everyone that plays FFXI online. Some like matt may know about these, but another recent out break of hackers has emerged from china. Somepage, ffah, and wiki were the targets and hosts of this virus. Wiki has been cleaned and should be safe now, the others im not sure of as of yet.
This perticular virus was designed well and alot of people has lost there accounts the past 2 weeks. If you play on the PC, then do you self a favor and look in this file and see if you have this new virus on your computer. If you have it, then clean you pc and change your pw asap.

How the Virus works:

This virus checks your pc for anything related to ffxi. If it finds it then it attaches a tag to the info and sends your information back the the hackers. Its not a key logger by any means, but this method of hacking is alot faster then a key logger virus. This virus goes thu "no Script" so dont count on that to save your information. Also its not somthing you have to click on, all you have to do is go to the site and the virus is in your pc, so be very careful with ah.com and somepage since they are not kept upto date like wiki is. Matt may know of Esoul, his account was hacked the other night, and we watch his char give all his gil and gear to 15 different mules and then switch servers ; ;.

Ill post more info when it comes to me. Till then if you play on the same computer u use the internet with and go to these sites, then please look in your c drive and see if you have this virus. If so take care and remove it asap.

Wow that sucks a lot... O_O All that time spent and everything goes away. It's a time consuming game. Well can't say I play the game so I'm safe (uhhh d'uh! o_O Excuse my brain dysfunctions, lack of sleep).

yeah, esoul lost 8mil in gear, and 12 mil in gil. they tried to back his game up one week to retrieve all his stuff, but it didnt work the first time, so they are going back another week.

Anyway I looked for the file and I do not have. Best advice I can give is to check EVERYTIME U PLAYED for any dagerous files kruxis posted above.

o ya they started doing that a couple months ago, remember reading it on POL i wonder why it didnt work a week back

Well they can keep going back week after week, but the first time that the data gets harmed in any way, he has to start over ; ; apperently its very tricky business. kinda scary

hacking is always happening and big buisness, sadly. People should always be on the watch for weird computer files etc. Not only for this game but for anything at all. I have heared and increase in hacking hotmail accounts and such to. So be allert.
