I would assume cause you have a FFXI section and you are listed with a few sites that do advertise private servers. It is not a "bad" question since there are private servers for the game just like WoW and many others. A privately run server for FFXI is not the greatest since you cannot move your character and its accomplishments to the real game later if you like it. But it is a good way to see the game for free and there are torrents that will allow you to download the software easy enough. But all to that is not authorize by Square, though the resale of the software as used is not a problem from places like Gamestop. Then Square provides a service to buy the new codes for each expansion to play the game.
