FF IX What happened to vivi?

I havent played FF9 in a while but i was thinking bout it a few days ago and somethings bothering me.

Remember how at the ending you see puck bumps into that vivi and vivi dosnt know who he is at first and then says hes vivi's son and then you see all the other vivi's come along.

i just wondering where is the real vivi???? i mean i saw the one say he was his son then 10 others come along but i dont know if one of them it the real one they didnt act like it. does the mean the vivi and stopped like his brothers and the vivi's we see are new black mages that were made in vivi's image cause i done remember seeing any female black mages not that u can really tell lol.

I might have just forgot and i dont wann go play it all over agin just 2 answer this and i might not get my answer.

so guys and girls and thoughts???

umm if i remember correctly but i havnt played for ages either but they all run to vivi and he didnt stop cause he was one of the first and so he lasted longer or thats what i like to believe and how he managed procriate your not supposed to ask (and who said vivi was a bloke? lol)

I have beat IX and I think when Zadian show Garnet he was the
one in the cloak I thought that was Vivi behind them thow I might be wrong.

No, that was one of Vivi's 'children'. There were... six, I believe.
Vivi himself died sometime between the Iifa Tree's death and Zidane's return to Alexandria. There was the whole bit about Zidane teaching him many things and how "My memories will become part of the sky..."
The only character with a 'shortened' lifespan was Vivi. It may be longer then a Black Mages, but still significantly shorter then a human's.
He spent the rest of his life trying to figure out a way to stop the Black Mages from 'stopping' is my guess. That's how his 'sons' were born. Wether they were a success or not, we don't know.

But the sad thing is... is that our beloved Black Mage is dead. ;.;

Ironically, Vivi is latin for "alive" or something like that. ;.;
