Excalibur 2

Who could get this weapon in FFIX ??
I think that u needed to get to the before last room of the last dungeon and speak to a pillar to get excalibur 2 but this needed to be done in less that 12 hours of game playing. I tried but i think that it is very dificult cause u cant lvl your guys properly ... and ... i died lots of times ...

My friend and I did this once. It took a TON of time to map out exactly where to go and what to do. We used the guide on GameFaqs and we still needed to run through parts of the game 3 or 4 times and not save in order to do it fast enough to get there in 12 hours. It's just one of those Final Fantasy things where it's cool to say that you did it but it's extremely unnecessary and time consuming.

i think its easily done if you really want to, but i like to go through the story sidequests and such so never get anywhere close obviously.
but saving in alot of slots definatly a good way to go

I would like to do this at some point... i reckon I could if I stayed balanced enough. However I do have a worry that it'd probably kill the experience if I did so... Did it have any downside to you after getting it? Aside from that I think it is a wasted effort anyway... Since by the time you get excalibur 2 you'd be too weak to really use it, as well as it only having 8 points more power than zidane's ultima weapon. not to mention when it is effective enough you could get the same power from alternate weapons, like excalibur 1. After all, there is only 1 way to break the damage limit and that is ark I believe (yet to beat Ozma)
