| Assassin and Mercenary ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Here is what I could find of this most awesome poem/story Prologue (Poem) When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end The goddess descends from the sky Wings of light and dark spread afar She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting Prologue (Interpreted) When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end The goddess descends from the sky Wings of light and dark spread afar She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting Act I (Poem) Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess We seek it thus, and take to the sky Ripples form on the water’s surface The wandering soul knows no rest. Act I (Interpreted) The infinite mystery The gift of the goddess is what the three men seek But their fates are scattered by war One is taken captured, one flies away And the last becomes a hero But the three are still bound by a solemn oath To seek the answer together, once again Act II (Poem) There is no hate, only joy For you are beloved by the goddess Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul Pride is lost Wings stripped away, the end is nigh Act II (Interpreted) Though the prisoner escapes, he is gravely wounded His life is saved, however By a woman of the opposing nation He begins a life of seclusion with her Which seems to hold the promise of eternal bliss But as happiness grows, so does guilt Of not fulfilling the oath to his friends Act III (Poem) My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow No matter where the winds may blow My friend, your desire Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return Act III (Interpreted) As the war sends the world hurtling towards destruction The prisoner departs with his newfound love And embarks on a new journey He is guided by hope that the gift will bring bliss And the oath that he swore to his friends Though no oath is shared between the lovers In their hearts they know they will meet again Act IV (Poem) My friend, the fates are cruel There are no dreams, no honor remains The arrow has left the bow of the goddess My soul, corrupted by vengeance Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey In my own salvation And your eternal slumber Legend shall speak Of sacrifice at world’s end The wind sails over the water’s surface Quietly, but surely Act V (Poem) Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return To become the dew that quenches the land To spare the sands, the seas, the skies I offer thee this silent sacrifice Source: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/LOVELESS Please let me know if anyone else has any more information about this awesome poem like: Author Is it real Can it be bought and where? | It's basically the story of advent children CC. I don't know if there's a direct author for this story, maybe it's in ending credits. I think it was just meant to be read by the player as the story continues, so I don't think you can buy this anywhere separately. Its as real as Final Fantasy, very real to some ![]() I hope this answers your questions. |

| Looks like fan made book for cosplaying or something like that. there's a measure and scale on the picture, so somebody probably wanted it to look as realistic as possible. Very nice job BTW, good find Shadow. |

| This is a rather old topic, but I have been re-reading LOVELESS in preperation for something and my interest in the poem has once again returned. I was a fan of it when I played Crisis Core and I and still fond of it now. Even before Crisis Core I alwas felt there was an air of mystery around the term "LOVELESS" as it appears in every Final Fantasy VII Compilation game in one form or another. Naturally, Crisis Core gives the most detail, but LOVELESS has been interesting since I first saw that sign in Midgar. Anyway, I was rambling a bit there. I wish to revive this topic so I put forward a question. Which part of the LOVELESS poem is your favorite? |
