Your average FFVII Playthrough

For those of you who replay this game, what do you deem necessary in "completing" the game? Is it just getting to the end credits? Beating the Weapons? What do you usually do or not do?

As for me, when I play this game I make sure I destroy it. I like to get mastered materias for everyone, max out stats and levels, collect every item and every weapon, and beat the Weapons. I have a speed run once in a while but for the most part I do every possible thing.

To say I beat this game I would think you need to well beat the main story get Vincent and Yuffie in your party and watch the videos of:
Cloud and Zack escapeing Nibelhaim.
Vincents story in Lucrecias crystal cave thing.

If you count samll things then my be kill one or to tell the truth all the Weapons (Damn you Ruby Weapon.) and get the Golden Chocobo but I would say that ones not average in truth to judge wather you played it all just play Dirge of Cerberus and watch Advent Children and if any thing you see makes you go "What are they talking about?? What is this all about?" then you need to go back to FFVII.

i replay many times to get everything i can,items,weapons,accesories(even the ones u can only get from chocobo races),max every materia n summon,breed chocobos,win prizes in gold saucer,venture all places n make sure i bring the right character along a certain place so i don't miss anything and of course kill all weapons n anything that can be killed!!
i think i missed lots of things during cloud's first fall in midgar...i think i'll replay again there..

when i play i try to get all weapons, equipments, limit breaks, max lvl form chars and materia, do all the sidequests, and kill the hidden bosses

I usually don't do it that detailed. the things that count to me is to get everyones best weapons, the golden chocobo and to defeat all of the weapons. Up to now, I never payed too much attention to getting all of the materias up to master though.

Well.... I do speed plays sometimes, but for the most part.... I destroy the game..... I max everything I can, all summons, all ultimate weapons, everything..... My fastest speed run was 58hrs. 36min. I have yet to beat that run.

i was 16 in high school, and was on a caffeine high.... I think I MIGHT have slept a total of 4hrs that whole time I was playing it.... I also just wanted to see how fast I could beat it. Only final limit I got was Clouds....

It's actually easier to do a speed run than you'd think! I thought the same thing, Tifa. My brother cruised through in 25-30 hours or so, and then I tried. The only thing is you get stuck in boss fights that you're not prepared for because you have been running away the whole time, so you need different fighting tactics. (like putting everyone in the back row and stuff)
